this is ‘Last Land’ by Barcelona’s John Talabot taken from his magnificent debut full-length ‘ƒin’ which came out in february. it’s a record that blends euphoric house sensibilities with warm, fuzzy production and haunting cut-up vocal samples. having broken through in ‘09 with the lovely ‘Sunshine’ he finally makes good his promise with a truly great album. it’s vaguely reminiscent of a couple of other acts but i’m struggling to put my finger on them properly. just give this one a spin and see what you think. he is great
